UNFPA continues to partner with the UK Government in Turkmenistan in promoting human rights-based and gender equality programmes.  In September 2021, UNFPA and the British Embassy in Turkmenistan signed a new cooperation agreement, which will be aimed at promoting a human rights-based, gender sensitive and inclusive engagement of the police with the population. The partnership will also include awareness raising interventions among the youth on the issues of positive gender social norms.
