UN and Government of Turkmenistan have kicked a series of workshops to develop draft State Program on Youth Policy for 2021-2025 as part of the UN-Government partnership in the area of youth to implement the UN’s Youth-2030 strategy.

UNFPA supports the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry in building up the national adolescent reproductive health services.  The health specialists agreed that the services for adolescents must be accessible, affordable and of high quality.

The Support line on reproductive rights, health and COVID-19 launched this week to provide anonymous and professional counseling and referral services to women and girls in the context of a global pandemic.

New York, USA/ Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, 4 May 2020 - As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, number of women unable to access family planning, facing unintended pregnancies, gender-based violence and other harmful practices could skyrocket by millions of cases in the months ahead, according to data released by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund.

The ambition of the 2030 Agenda and the urgency of its timeline necessitates that a new generation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks become “the most important instrument for planning and implementation of the UN development activities at country level in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda)”.

UNFPA, the UN sexual and reproductive health agency, is closely monitoring and working with partners, governments and UN agencies to address the outbreak of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which has been declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).

UNFPA is working to ensure that accurate information is provided to women of reproductive age and pregnant women on infection precautions, potential risks and how to seek timely medical care.
